I've had the "open car windows" problem, too -- it gets kinda frustrating, but overall, it IS an auto battery, so it is what it is. I would also love to see a manual battery for my Elite, but that is pretty much the only "downside" I see w/ my Elite so far (4 days in).

the latest update is that after a week of trying, the manufacturer came to the conclusion that a manual battery will be impossible because of the size of the elite. however the passthrough is going to still happen.

Just to reiterate, if you modify the PCC, it's no longer under 'warranty', correct? Any modification at all?

I'm okay with there being no manual version, but what about a higher quality auto-switch.

This is the one and only thing I don't like about my elite. My first PV was a Blu, and the Elite kicks the crap out Blue in every conceivable way except one.

The Blu uses a vacuum switch that hardly ever went off on accident for me, and if it did, it was just the occasional blip.

However, I can't even leave my Elite assembled in the car, even with it closed up in the PCC and the windows rolled up. Several times in the first week I had it, I would get out of the car after my 30 minute commute to work and find that the atty was so hot I was surprised the cart hadn't started melting. And of course, the battery would be dead at this point as well. Not exactly a good thing for a LiIon batt.

I've tested it since then with both batteries under a variety of conditions by setting my PCC with the lid open in a spot I can see when the light comes on. As soon as I reach highway speeds, the light starts going on and off at random intervals, but is on about 50% of the time. This is with the stereo off, windows rolled up, and the AC on low. And it's not like I'm driving a 25 year old junker with a bad muffler. It's an '05 Corolla.

The other option I haven't see discussed, which might even be PCC compatible, would be an automatic battery with a manual shutoff. I'd gladly trade the LED for a rotary switch that would cut the power. It could probably even be molded to still get the same look without lighting up.

I always unscrew the atty just a bit when I put it in the PCC just to be safe. But I also have not experienced that much sensitivity with any of my Elite batteries. And believe me, my car is not quiet.

I had the same question. I might go vGo as a back-up, driving, etc. Is that a good choice?

Wow so just ask and you receive, how about getting the PCC to have all the same funtionality as my iphone so only have to carry the PCC. Why your at it can you add a hidden door to carry the liquid and a paperclip?

Heh sounds like you would benifit from a 5v juice box mod. That way your box is your ecig and your juice all in one. Hella ugly but would definatly get the job done

You're anxious? I'm the one sitting here with my thumb up my arse waiting for the mailman. lol.

Seriously though, I'll let you know for sure.

VeeDubb - I have to ask, where are you from? Normally it is me coming up with phrases like that as I seem to be the only one here with Commonwealth exposure. Hope you have your thumb out by now.

lol, first of all, thumb-out now. :D

Pulled my new Vgo out of the mailbox about 10 minutes ago, and here's my very quick first impressions:

Analog of choice was American Spirit. Even the lites have a very strong TH, and a very high nic content considering they're all natural. Smoke 3/4 of a pack to 1 pack a day.

Started with Blu. Found them to be more or less good enough that I could manage without analogs most of the time.

Switched the Elite a few weeks ago, haven't wanted an analog since. The only analog I've smoked since getting my elite was when I took a break with one of my buddies at work and didn't realize I'd left my Elite in my office, so I bummed one from her.

I took half a dozen drags from my Vgo before charging (because I was impatient) and it's AMAZING. A little more TH, a little less flavor, and HOLY CRAP did I get a big nic-hit. half a dozen drags and I was light-headed. Between American Spirits (which are tight packed and hard drawing) and then using super-minis, I'm used to taking way longer drags than you need to with the Vgo.

Also, what nobody would answer me on before is the difference in cartridge size. Everybody knows the gem carts are bigger, but if you haven't seen both, it's hard to say how much bigger. At a guess, I'd say the gem/vgo carts hold 3 times as much at least.

Edit - Oregon born and raised. Still there now.

.

I filled a Vgo Gemini cartridge last night and it held around 27 drops of juice compared to the 9 or 10 my Elite holds. I am going to say that it's around double the size if not more. I didn't keep track of how fast the vgo burns through juice though.

So how did that thumb feel? LOL That's a weird way to wait for the mailman unless you have a thing for the mailman....hahahahahaha! just kidding with way.
